Beijing Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning Held a Training and Meeting on Construction of Beijing National Pathogen Identification Network

National network of identification of pathogenic bacteria is a monitoring network for pathogenic bacteria laboratory managed and operated by National Health and Family Planning Commission. It is built in the national disease control system, aiming to use pathogen identification, molecular typing, genome traceability and other investigation and analysis technology to carry out pathogenic bacteria laboratory and epidemiological monitoring, and constantly promote the application of monitoring and early warning new technologies and strategies for bacterial infectious disease, thus improving the response capacity of bacterial infectious diseases in our country.

As one of the first eight pilot provinces and municipalities, in this year, our city will bring the national network of identification of pathogenic bacteria establishment into the major works of annual disease control. We will start the network construction in 5 pilot areas covering Xicheng District, Fengtai District, Tongzhou District, Changping District and Shunyi District. In order to timely summarize the pilot work and further promote the next step in an orderly manner, Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning organized a training seminar on the establishment of national pathogenic bacteria identification network of Beijing on October 12.

At the meeting, deputy director of Beijing Center for Diseases Prevention and Control Pang Xinghuo reported the progress of the relevant work in the city and awarded the title of Regional Network Laboratory of Pathogenic Bacteria Identification Network to the 5 pilot areas reviewed by experts.

After the meeting, relevant experts from Beijing Center for Diseases Prevention and Control were invited to conduct a comprehensive and systematic training on the Monitoring Work Plan for Beijing National Pathogen Identification Network (2017 Version). Chiefs from CDC departments of health and family planning commissions and related personnel from districts and municipal disease control centers attended the meeting and training.
